Sunset over the Saguaros by Kchan27 Sunset over the Saguaros by Kchan27
I think I corrected the lighting right on this, if not ill repost it later.

Added salmon colored edge to cactus... gives it a nice sunset feel to it, and made the clouds more magenta. its a good change.

Did this in a class, I love it and its the one I'll keep, so i guess the other is for sale. Woot.

wet on wet oil, 16x20

And that prick said you aren't an artist... feh!

I admire anyone who can work with raw pigments like that; I've had to stick to charcoal and graphite, because I just can't wrap my head around some parts of painting; namely brushstroke control and actually putting down a smooth layer of paint; it all just clabs together into one big mess, and that's before I even try blending!

are you talking about oil paint, if so are you using a medium??? if you would like some pointers you can send me your email in a note, and we can message or chat on msn.

Actually, the class I'm in has been using acrylics.

I HATE acrylics.

yah im not too fond of them either, they dont stay wet enough to work with and blend the way I like with oils, which is why I only do insanely detailed work with them, like gardens, where I dont want to blend anyway.

you should try oils, but you have to use a medium like liquin. makes it smooth and so workable.

Oh wow, this is such a beautiful picture! Whoever said the desert can't be beautiful needs to be shot. Really beautiful addition of the pink to the cactus. Really adds a lot more to this. :)
